Hello Friday.
April 19 2024
Activate Good is honoring those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, with acts of service for the community through the nonprofit’s September Month of Service.
The local organization is inviting Triangle residents to participate through in-person + remote volunteer opportunities during the month of September. The volunteer opportunity list currently has 250+ project shifts available. Some projects have a set day and time, while other opportunities allow volunteers to participate based on their schedule.
"Last year, we saw a light shine on some of the biggest needs in our community,” Amber Smith, executive director of Activate Good, said in a press release. “People stepped up to help their neighbors + volunteered in communities across the Triangle. But we know the need is not over yet.”

This year’s signature September Month of Service project is the Community Mural Project. Volunteers are helping paint a mural at 19 E. Martin St. in Downtown Raleigh with guidance and touch-ups by professional artists. Individuals are invited to watch the creation of the “Do Good” mural on Sept. 10-11 + the mural reveal on Sun., Sept. 12.
Activate Good will also be sharing a video on Sat., Sept. 11 that features community members speaking on how they plan to contribute to positive change in the future. You can watch the video via Facebook.
