- Wake County is recruiting its next Fire Academy Class. The 33-week course, starting Jan. 3, 2022, is a Wake Technical Community College partnership intended to share resources + make fire training more accessible to interested students. Registration is open to those brand new to firefighting or with volunteer experience. 🚒

- NC State’s Fitts-Woolard Hall was recognized as a distinctive structure in Building NC’s eighth annual awards that highlight some of the state’s best commercial real estate developments. The building cost $103.3 million to construct and houses 100+ classrooms and laboratories. (Business NC)
Biz
- Starwood Capital Group — a Miami-based real estate investment firm — purchased six apartment communities in the Triangle for $565 million. The communities include Arium Lake Johnson, Arium Weston, Arium Lake Lynn, Arium Kildaire, Arium Trailwood, and Arium Southpoint. The firm has not yet announced its plans for the properties.
