Here’s what’s projected for the Triangle’s housing market in 2022:
- Realtor.com ranked Raleigh No. 24 out of 30 in the Metropolitan city category in its top housing markets for 2022 study.
- The City of Oaks is projected to see a home sale increase of 9.6% and a 4% increase in home prices.
- Zillow predicted Raleigh will be the third hottest market in the US.
- For the Durham + Chapel Hill metro, sales are projected to increase 8.9% with a 4.2% increase in home prices.

- The House Wake! COVID-19 Financial Assistance Program will stop accepting applications at 5 p.m. on Fri., Jan. 21. Wake County wants to ensure that all approved applicants have their rent or utility payments covered through Sat., April 30. The total budget for the program is $101 million.
- With construction underway on the Crabtree Creek West Greenway Project, Raleigh Transportation has installed a temporary pedestrian path on Lindsay Dr. to allow continued access to the greenway. Hear from the crew behind the project + see what the temporary path looks like here. 🚧

- Pinehurst will host the men’s and women’s US Open in 2024 and 2029 on the legendary Donald Ross designed No. 2 course. The 2024 championship will be the fourth hosted at the No. 2 course in 25 years. ⛳

- The Carolina Ballet Summer Intensive program will run from Mon., Jun. 27-Sat., July 30. students will have the opportunity to train, rehearse, + perform alongside professional dancers of the Carolina Ballet — offering in-person, virtual, and video auditions this year. 🩰

Fort Bragg (~1 hour from Raleigh) sent out a warning to the public that military drills will take place starting Fri., Jan 22-Wed., Feb. 4 across 12 counties, including Wake and Chatham. - Durham Public Health is now offering free COVID-19 booster shots for children ages 12-15 + immunocompromised children ages 5-11. Additionally, it shortened the Pfizer booster waiting period from six months to five months. Learn more here.

- NC One Water announced Durham has the best tasting tap water in the state for the third year in a row. Williams Water Treatment Plant provided the winning water entry. Raleigh water ranked second, followed by Cary in third. 💧
