The semi-annual Triangle Restaurant Week is back Mon., Jan. 24 through Sun., Jan.30 and we are ready to devour. đ´
This celebration of culinary excellence showcases the Triangle's premier restaurants + offers meal deals for one week only. There are 22 participating eateries in Raleigh offering specials like three-course dinners and lunch options for fixed, discounted prices â allowing Raleighites to dine great quality for a portion of the price.

- In an effort to fairly compensate Durham police officers + firefighters, Durham City Council members voted to approve pay raises, effective immediately. This will boost salaries to a competitive level and will cost the city ~$4 million. đ
- With $1.8 million to allocate, the Wake County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council is urging youth-service organizations to apply for funding for the 2023 fiscal year. Council members will decide how to distribute the funds by analyzing these factors. The deadline to apply is Mon., Jan. 31.

- The Black Dollar Corp. â the locally-based company behind #BlackDollarNC + downtown's Black Friday Market â will close a $650,000 funding round on Feb. 1. Minimum investment is $100 and will support the opening of five additional brick-and-mortar storefronts. Learn more here.
Cause
- The SPCA of Wake County joined the #BettyWhiteChallenge to honor the actressesâ legacy, calling on people to donate to animal shelters in the comedianâs name. With a fundraising goal of $10,000, the SPCA of Wake County surpassed that in just one day, raising more than $36,000. (CBS 17) đś

ICYMI, last Friday was Squirrel Appreciation Day. We sure do love these little creatures.
Our hearts are bursting after seeing this little squirrel at the NC Zooâs Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. This NC Zoo initiative aims to rehabilitate native wildlife that have been injured, abandoned, sick, or orphaned, so that they can eventually be released back into the wild. Learn more and donate.
